Camps that participated in 2017 Resource Fair organized by Palo Alto CAC
In February 2017 the CAC organized a Resource Fair of Summer Camps, After School Activities & Educational Resources. This list contains links to all of the vendors who set up tables at our fair. Many of these providers offer inclusive summer camps.

Aspen Team Camp

BOK Ranch
BOK Ranch offers a full-inclusion, inter-dependent equine based, summer camp experience. Each week campers of all ages and all abilities work cohesively and respectfully of one another.
Camp Altitude
Altitude at Via offers two-week summer camp experiences in California for boys and girls with social cognitive challenges including: verbal and nonverbal learning disabilities, ADHD, Asperger’s, and High Functioning Autism. Our sleepaway camps are geared towards children and teenagers who are entering the 6th through 12th grades, while our day camp program is designed for children entering the 3rd through 5th grades.
Camp Arroyo
The camp accommodate up to 45 developmentally delayed youth, age 6 – 22. The ratio of children to counselors is 1:1. Camp is held at Camp Arroyo, a 138-acre parkland outside Livermore, Ca.
Camp Go Beyond
“CAMP GO BeYOND was created in 2001 by Dr. Mel Heyman, Chief of Pediatric Gastroenterolgy at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital in San Francisco as Camp Gut Busters. Our mission is to provide a free camp experience where children ages 7-17 diagnosed with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD): Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis, can have fun in a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment”.
Camp Harmon
Camp Harmon is a residential camp for children and adults with disabilities, ages 8-65. Campers attend 6 or 8 day sessions and participate in nature, farm and garden, arts and crafts, swimming, and many other activities.
Camp Kodiak
Camp Kodiak offers an integrated, non-competitive camp serving children and teens with ADHD, LD and high-functioning ASD. Social skills program, academic tutoring, 50+ sports and activities. Small cabin groups, 2-to-1 ratio, professional staff. Comfortable lakefront cabins with electricity and full bathrooms including shower. Transportation to/from airport in Toronto.
Camp Krem
Camping Unlimited is a non-profit organization providing children and adults with Special Needs a full program of recreation, education, fun and adventure. Our program encourages independence, nurtures responsibility, develops competence and builds lifelong friendships in a warm supportive atmosphere of planned permissiveness. Summer Camps are for all ages (including teens and adults).
Challenge Summer School
Challenge School is a unique, theme-based summer school program for students in K-6th grades (including those who have just completed 6th grade) who have experienced academic difficulty in their regular class. The main goals are: maintain academic skills over the summer, foster self-esteem and academic confidence, teach alternative strategies for reading, writing, math, and organization/executive function.
Champion Summer Camp
Champion Summer Camp provides happy and healthy summer fun to boys and girls ages 5 – 12. Champion Summer Camp is pleased to offer Inspiring Champions, a fully-integrated camp participation opportunity for non-typically developing boys and girls. Kids at Champion are divided into groups (approximately 15 kids) of the same age and same gender. Each group has space for 1 Inspiring Champions camper to be fully-included in all group activities.
Camp Supperstuff
Breathe California offers a week-long asthma day camp – Camp Superstuff, held within the region served by Breathe California of the Bay Area. Designed for children 6-12 suffering from asthma, Camp Superstuff blends asthma education curriculum with traditional summer camp activities.
Coelho Epilepsy Youth Summer Camp
Coelho Epilepsy Youth Summer Camp provides an enjoyable residential camping experience for children with epilepsy, develops self-esteem by promoting self-confidence and building lasting friendships, and fosters independence in a fun and safe environment away from home. Ages 9-17.
Creative Discoveries Summer Camp (Abilities United)
For children and young adults, aged 5-22 with developmental disabilities, , weekly camps, July 11-August 19. Any behavioral issues must be manageable in a 1:5 ratio. Our theme-based weekly camps promote peer friendships, provide behavioral support, and offer fun field trips and enriching activities in a safe, highly structured environment. Environmental Traveling Companions (ECT)
Founded in 1972 by three river rafting guides, Environmental Traveling Companions (ETC) began offering whitewater rafting trips to disadvantaged youth and people with disabilities on California’s Stanislaus River in the Sierra foothills. Since our early beginnings, we have expanded to include sea kayaking, cross-country skiing, and youth leadership programs.
Friendship Circle
The Bay Area Friendship Circle’s innovative programming promotes a greater understanding of the unique gifts that people with special needs hold, encourages respect and empathy for those facing difficult challenges, and includes them in the Jewish community. The action-packed day camp for children and teens with special needs is open to all religions.
Lighthouse Project
The Lighthouse Project camps address every aspect of social skills development, helping children make breakthrough progress towards their therapy goals, and for being just plain fun while working on various social and sensory challenges. Camps are run by licensed Occupational Therapists specialized in social skills and sensory integration interventions for children with unique learning styles.
Sensation Nation
Developed in 2008 to offer successful recreation, athletic, therapeutic and educational opportunities for those with different needs. The Sensation Nation Summer Sports Camps offer unique opportunities to children with special needs. These week-long day camps are either half-day (9:00 a.m. – noon) or full-day (9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.) and are filled with all the sensory and motor fun your child can handle.
SOAR Inc.
SOAR is an accredited ADHD Summer Camp, Boarding School, and GAP Year Program. They serve youth and young adults with learning disabilities (LD) and ADD / ADHD in North Carolina, Wyoming, California, Florida, and internationally. Their adventure based programs provide academic instruction, experiential education, and life skills development for youth and young adults.
Skylar Hadden School Summer Camp
Summer Camp at Skylar Hadden School is a unique, integrated, non-competitive immersion program for children with learning challenges. All camp activities are planned to teach skills, build confidence,and improve self-esteem.
Summer Excellent Adventure Camp is an inclusive summer camp for higher functioning children, ages 5-18 who are all potty trained and ambulatory and can work in a 2:15 ratio, June 13 – July 8 (no camp July 4) The purpose of the camp is to help each camper create new friendships while participating in fun-filled field trips, arts and crafts projects, cooperative/noncompetitive games, and more! Sun Camp
The Silicon Valley Down Syndrome Network began in the 1990’s as Parents of People with Down Syndrome (PODS), a group of families who supported one another through informal get-togethers, educational workshops, and informational exchange and support. Occasionally Summer Camps will get organized.
Quest Therapeutic Camps
Quest’s intensive summer program runs from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM daily for six-eight weeks, five days per week. Each child participates in a small group of 12-18 campers and is guided by two or three of Counselors. All campers must attend a minimum of three weeks in a row but many stay for the entire summer. Quest Camps have provided innovative treatment programs for children aged 6-18 years old. Thousands of children have made dramatic improvements in behavioral, emotional and social functioning because of Quest’s unique system that combines recreational activities, behavioral milieu and group psychotherapy.
