Is your child struggeling in school? Information about IEP/504
If your child is struggling in school, they may qualify for support under an IEP (Individualized Education Program) or 504 plan. This session is the first in a series. Presented by PAUSD staff, including Director of Special Education Chiara Perry, Director of Student Services Brenda Carrillo, and Coordinator of Student Services Lissette Moore-Guerra, this series of informational sessions will provide an overview of IEPs and 504s, and answer parent questions.

Parents, educators and staff are welcome to join in a lively discussion with Dr. Tom Hehir. An advocate for children with disabilities in the education system, Dr, Hehir is the Silvana and Christopher Pasucci Professor of Practice in Learning Differences at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Dr. Hehir will join the district in partnership to review our systems of support for all students.

JLS Movin’ Up Event
JLS Special Education team is holding an evening event on Wednesday March 18 ( 6:00 pm, JLS Auditorium ),to help families prepare for transition and articulation. Transitioning into a new school and/or grade is an important step in your child’s educational journey. JLS will present “A Day in the Life of a JLS Student” and review classes, supports and the many exciting activities that JLS has to offer. Meant for incoming 5th grade parents and JLS parents grades 6-8th.
