Upon release of preliminary findings and recommendations from the Harvard Review of PAUSD Special Education, Palo Alto CAC addressed the School Board at its June 13th retreat and subsequently provided the following statement to the Board and district leadership.

The Review is an important first step in building PAUSD’s capacity to transparently plan, develop, implement and manage its special education program, and we believe working together with families is essential for positive student outcomes. The Palo Alto CAC endorsed the recommendations set forth in the preliminary findings (which also align with the 2015 CA Statewide Task Force on Special Education), and requested that the community be informed of a revised timetable of deliverables.
