The schedule for the upcoming PAUSD Family Leadership Summit is live. You can see the list and who is presenting, along with course descriptions. Attendees can attend for the sessions they are interested in – it is not required to stay the whole time.
During the Summit, Palo Alto CAC will offer a dyslexia/learning differences simulation with partners from PTAC and REEL: 1 in 5 people experience Learning Differences like dyslexia. Hands-on activities will let participants experience some of the challenges and frustrations faced by students with language-based learning disabilities. Rotate among guided stations that simulate tasks encountered in the classroom. Gain empathy and a better understanding of the needs and supports for those with learning differences. Space limited.
Event is FREE, but please Register here.
About the Event:
The Summit is a family-centered conference dedicated to empowering and engaging families around important topics that affect their child’s academic achievement, health, and wellbeing. This year the summit will focus on four key themes: Health and wellbeing, supporting diverse learners, academic success, and engaging with PAUSD.
Our keynote speaker is writer and activist, Jonathan Mooney, author of “Normal Sucks.” He and other high-quality presenters will share powerful practices and strategies to help parents and guardians become leaders and partners in their child’s education.
