What is UNITY Day?
Unity Day is an event celebrated across America every year to promote kindness and togetherness in our schools. We have celebrated Unity Day here in Palo Alto every year starting in 2013.
While each school might do different activities with the help of teachers, parents and student leaders, they have shared a theme — “When We Stand Together, No One Stands Alone”.
Something everyone can do for Unity Day is to wear orange. This is a sign that all students, teachers and parents will stand together and do their part in supporting the ideas of kindness and unity. So on Unity Day, there is a mass of people wearing orange at our schools!
Get Involved
Wear orange on Unity Day! You can also help organize activities at your school. Past activities have included unity chains, art projects, diversity lessons, special book displays in the library, and more. Contact your principal, PTA, or school rep to find out how you can help.
